On Monday, Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan said that the 'One Nation, One Ration Card' scheme will be implemented across the country by 1 June.
"We will implement the 'One Nation, One Ration Card' scheme by June 1 in the whole country. Under this scheme a beneficiary will be able to avail benefits across the country using the same ration card," Paswan said speaking to ANI at an event in Patna.
Earlier, Paswan had said that the facility would be started in 12 states on the first day of 2020. The beneficiaries of the public distribution system under this facility can get their share of ration at any of these 12 states that they reside in.
The Union Minister for Food and Public Distribution in December announced that the 'One Nation, One Ration Card' system would be implemented without fail in the entire country by 30 June 2020.
