OnePlus Launches OxygenOS 16: Check Android 16 Features, Eligible Devices & Release Schedule

OnePlus has officially announced that its next major software update, OxygenOS 16, based on Android 16, will start rolling out from November 2025. The update brings a refreshed design, AI features with enhanced security, and better connectivity across the OnePlus Universe. The OnePlus 15 series, launching later this month, will come with OxygenOS 16 pre-installed, giving users a first-hand experience of the new Android 16-based interface.

OxygenOS 16 Rollout Timeline and Eligible Devices

The rollout will happen in three phases between November 2025 and March 2026, beginning with the newest flagships.

Phase 1 from November 2025: OnePlus 13, OnePlus 13R, OnePlus 13s, OnePlus 12, OnePlus 12R, OnePlus Open, OnePlus Pad 3, and OnePlus Pad 2.

Phase 2 from December 2025: OnePlus 11, 11R, Nord 5, Nord CE5, Nord 4, and Nord 3 5G.

Phase 3 in Q1 2026: OnePlus 10 Pro, Nord CE4, CE4 Lite, OnePlus Pad, and Pad Lite.

Major Features of OxygenOS 16

Here are some of the top features of the OxygenOS 16:

1. With OxygenOS 16, OnePlus is focusing on a cleaner, fluid interface inspired by two new design themes, "Breathe With You" and "Thrive With Free Expression", as per the official website.

2. The update introduces a Liquid Glass design with translucent layers, blur effects, and smooth animations. Users will also notice the upgraded Flux Theme 2.0 and a Fluid Cloud interface that shows live notifications from apps like Spotify, food delivery platforms, etc., all in one place.

3. The new OnePlus AI system range has productivity-focused features like Plus Mind, which is an AI tool that lets users capture and organise text, voice notes, and images with a simple three-finger gesture. Also, the built-in Mind Space app now syncs with Gemini, allowing contextual and personalised AI responses.

4. OnePlus has also added real-time text rewriting and summarising for emails, notes, and chat messages.

5. For privacy, Private Computing Cloud is preset to make sure sensitive user data is processed locally and remains in the device.

6. Another cool feature of the new update is the improved sync between OnePlus phones, tablets, and OnePlus Watch.

7.The Photos app also gets a major upgrade with a new video editor that lets users trim, add captions, and include background music seamlessly.
