Oracle's Health Unit Faces Job Cuts And Rescinded Offers Amidst Challenging Ventures

Oracle, a renowned software corporation, has made significant job cuts and rescinded job offers within its health unit on Thursday, Reuters reported quoting business insider.

Thousands of layoffs have occurred in corporate America as companies grapple with high levels of inflation and rising interest rates.

Oracle's health division includes Cerner, an electronic medical records company that it purchased for $28.3 billion in December of last year, its largest ever transaction.

The layoffs were mostly the result of Cerner's difficult work with the United States Department of Veterans Affairs, which hired Cerner to replace its homegrown medical records with Cerner's technology, according to the story.

According to the report, the laid-off staff will receive severance money equal to four weeks, plus one additional week for every year of service, as well as a distribution of vacation days.
