Pallonji Mistry, Chairman Of Shapoorji Pallonji Passes Away

As per the business news channel CNBC TV 18 Chairman of the Shapoorji Pallonji Group-Pallonji Mistry aged 93 years passed away last night.

Born in India in a Parsi family in 1929, Mistry did his schooling from Cathedral & John Cannon School in Mumbai, following which he moved to London's Imperial College for further studies. At the age of 18 he started his career and joined the family business that was established in the year 1865. Later in 1970s, Mistry assisted in its expansion to Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Qatar in the Middle East. Subsequently he opted for Irish citizenship as a result of marriage in 2003. Mistry has been awarded Padma Bhushan in 2016 for his contribution in the field of industry and trade.

He is survived by his wife and 4 children-two sons- Shapoor Mistry and Cyrus Mistry, and two daughters Laila Mistry and Aloo Mistry. Shapoor runs the Shapoorji Pallonji Group, while Cyrus was the Chairman of Tata Group Chairman from 2012 to 2016.

Mumbai headquartered Shapoorji Pallonji Group has construction business spanning India, Africa, South Asia and the Middle East. Some of the exquisite constructions of the entity include the RBI Building, the BSE building, among others.
