Patanjali And PNB Launches Contactless Credit Card In Partnership With NPCI

Patanjali and Punjab National Bank on Wednesday 02 March 2022, launched a credit card with triple benefits in Uttarakhand's Haridwar in partnership with the National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI). The credit cards are offered on NCPI's RuPay platform and are available in two variants - PNB RuPay Select and PNB RuPay Platinum.

Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev also attended the launch event along with the co-founder of Patanjali Yogpeeth Haridwar Acharya Balkrishna.

Baba Ramdev on the launch event said, "With the support of PNB and RuPay, it will be our effort to make 1 crore credit cards very soon."

The triple benefits of the co-branded credit card include the discount of 5 to 10 percent on purchase, insurance cover of up to Rs 5 lakh along other conveniences.

Ramdev added on to say that the card's current maximum is Rs 10 lakh. Acharya Balkrishna spoke at the gathering, recalling Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Aatma Nirbhar Bharat initiative and said, "If the foreigners can do it, why can't we?"'

Features and Benefits of Patanjali Contactless Credit Card:

  • The platinum card offers a credit limit of Rs 25,000 to Rs 5 lakh and Select Card offers a credit limit of Rs 50,000 to Rs 10 lakh.
  • Users will be able to purchase everyday Patanjali items as well as cashback, loyalty points, insurance coverage, and more using the contactless credit card service.
  • At Patanjali Stores, cardholders can earn 2% cashback on sales above Rs 2,500, up to a maximum of Rs 50 per transaction.
  • PNB RuPay Platinum and PNB RuPay Select customers will also receive a 300-point welcome bonus when they activate their cards.
  • Customers will also receive complimentary domestic and international airport lounge access, the PNB Genie Mobile Application for card management, add-on card facility, EMI, reward points on spending, cash advance/revolve, and auto-debit facilities, as well as cash advance,/revolve and auto-debit facilities.
  • These credit cards also come with insurance coverage of Rs 2 lakh and Rs 10 lakh for accidental death and personal complete disability, respectively.
  • The Platinum version comes with a zero joining fee and an annual fee of Rs 500, while the Select version offers a low joining fee of Rs 500 and an annual fee of Rs 750.
  • If the card is used at least once in each quarter of the previous year, the yearly fees will be waived.
