Paytm Q1 Results Preview: One97 Communications May Report Higher Profit; Share Price Flat Ahead of Earnings

One97 Communications Ltd, the parent company of Paytm, is set to announce its financial results for the quarter ended June 30, 2026 (Q1 FY27) on Monday, July 20, 2026. Along with approving the June quarter earnings, the company's board will also consider a proposal to issue bonus shares to eligible shareholders, making the meeting one of the most closely watched corporate events for investors.

Paytm Q1 Results Today: What Analysts Expect from One97 Communications

Brokerages expect Paytm to report another stable quarter, supported by continued growth in its core payments and financial services businesses.

According to estimates, the company's consolidated revenue is likely to increase to around Rs 2,376 crore during the June quarter, compared with Rs 2,264 crore reported in the March quarter, reflecting steady sequential growth.

Operating performance is also expected to improve. Analysts estimate EBITDA (Earnings Before Interest, Taxes, Depreciation and Amortisation) at nearly Rs 161 crore, higher than Rs 132 crore in the previous quarter, while the EBITDA margin is projected to improve to around 6.8% from 5.8%.

If estimates hold, consolidated net profit could rise to nearly Rs 191 crore, slightly higher than Rs 183 crore reported in the previous quarter. Another profitable quarter would further strengthen Paytm's turnaround after years of losses.

One97 Communications Q1 Preview: Healthy Growth Expected in Payments and Financial Services

Analysts remain optimistic about the company's operational performance. According to Bank of America (BofA), Paytm is expected to maintain healthy momentum in both its payments and financial services businesses, with sequential growth estimated in the range of 5% to 8%.

Motilal Oswal Financial Services also expects a strong quarter, forecasting around 7% quarter-on-quarter revenue growth. The brokerage believes the company's contribution margin may remain stable at nearly 55%, while Gross Merchandise Value (GMV) is expected to grow about 27% year-on-year and 5% quarter-on-quarter, indicating continued strength in transaction volumes.

Paytm delivered a significant turnaround in the March quarter (Q4 FY26), reporting a consolidated net profit of Rs 183 crore, compared with a loss of Rs 545 crore in the same quarter a year earlier.

Revenue from operations also registered healthy growth, rising to Rs 2,264 crore from Rs 1,912 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year. The strong quarterly performance reflected continued improvement across the company's payments ecosystem, financial services and operating efficiency.

The financial year ended March 2026 was a milestone for the fintech company.

Paytm reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 552 crore for FY26, compared with a net loss of Rs 663 crore in FY25. Revenue from operations also increased to Rs 8,437 crore, up from Rs 6,900 crore in the previous financial year, highlighting sustained business growth throughout the year.

Paytm Bonus Issue: First Ever Bonus Share Proposal to Remain in Focus

Apart from quarterly earnings, investors will closely monitor the board's decision on the proposed bonus share issue.

The board is scheduled to consider the proposal alongside the financial results. If approved, the bonus issue will be subject to the required regulatory and shareholder approvals. The announcement is expected to remain one of the biggest talking points during the earnings event.

Paytm Share Price Today Ahead of Earnings Call

Ahead of the earnings announcement, Paytm shares traded largely unchanged on Monday.

At around 10:03 AM, shares of One97 Communications Ltd were trading at Rs 1,346.50 on the NSE, down 0.11% for the day. The stock opened at Rs 1,350, touched an intraday high of Rs 1,357.40, and slipped to a low of Rs 1,335.50 during early trade.
