PC Jeweller Shares Rise 4% As Firm Becomes Debt-Free; Stock Rallies 89% In 6 Months; Check Details

Shares of PC Jeweller today surged as much as 4% to touch a day's high of Rs. 14.63 on the BSE on Monday, after the company announced that it has become completely debt-free.

The stock later cooled off slightly and was trading at Rs. 14.23, up 0.85% at the time of writing, However, the stock's overall rally is still impressive. The counter has climbed 10.83% over the past five trading sessions, 30.07% in the last month, and an impressive 87.98% over six months, taking its year-to-date gain to 53.01%.

How did PC Jeweller become Debt-Free?

Back in September 2024, PC Jewellers signed a one-time settlement (OTS) signed with a 14-bank consortium led by State Bank of India. The settlement was done to resolve a stressed loan book that stood at nearly Rs. 4,100 crore as of March 2024.

The consortium included SBI, Union Bank, Punjab National Bank, Axis Bank, IndusInd Bank, Bank of India, IDBI Bank, Karur Vysya Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Indian Overseas Bank, Canara Bank, Indian Bank, Bank of Baroda, and IDFC First Bank.

Till 2026, the company made all the repayments to individual lenders in the consortium. By early September, it had cleared dues with 8 of the 14 banks and discharged more than 96% of the total outstanding amount.
The company finally confirmed the exchanges regarding the full repayment to all 14 banks on Friday, September 25, with the last tranche completed ahead of the scheduled due date under the settlement terms.

Stock Performance And Trading Activity

After Friday's announcement, PC Jeweller shares had actually closed marginally lower, down 0.98% at Rs. 14.11, as investors booked some profits.

Monday's session saw the market catch up to the news, with the stock touching a fresh high before easing.

The scrip had hit its 52-week high of Rs. 14.87 on September 23, just days before the final debt-clearance confirmation. PC Jeweller's market capitalisation currently stands at around Rs. 13,860 crore.

Strong Q1 Numbers

The company achieved debt-free after improving operating performance. In the first quarter of FY27, PC Jeweller reported a 37% YoY jump in consolidated net profit to Rs. 222 crore, compared to Rs. 161.93 crore in the year-ago period.

Total income for the quarter rose to Rs. 879.27 crore from Rs. 807.88 crore a year earlier, while EBITDA surged 90% YoY to Rs. 242 crore from Rs. 127 crore in Q1 FY26. The company operates around 50 physical stores across 12 states in India.
