Petrol, Diesel Price Aug 23, 2022: Check Fuel Prices In Delhi And Other Leading Cities

The price of petrol and diesel is left steady by the leading Oil Marketing Companies on August 23. Now the fuel prices have been unchanged for the last 3 months. However, earlier last month Maharashtra saw a fall in the fuel prices after the state government announced a cut in Value-Added Tax or VAT on petrol by Rs 5 per litre and on diesel by Rs 3 per litre.

Fuel price all across India remain steady since May 21, 2022 when Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced a cut in excise duty on petrol by Rs 8 per litre and Rs 6 per litre on diesel.

The price of 1 litre of petrol is in Delhi is recorded at Rs 96.72 per litre while the diesel price is Rs 89.62 per litre in the national capital. In Mumbai, the price of one litre of petrol is recorded at Rs 106.31 per litre and diesel price is available at Rs 94.27 per litre.

The prices of petrol and diesel vary in different cities all over India as a result of implementation of local taxes such as VAT and freight charges.

The public sector oil marketing companies that may include Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL), and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) revise prices of fuel everyday keeping in line with benchmark global prices and foreign exchange rates.

If any changes in the prices of petrol and diesel occur, it is implemented at 6 AM everyday.

Gurugram: Petrol: Rs 97.18/litre, Diesel: Rs 90.05/litre

Chandigarh: Petrol: Rs 96.20/litre, Diesel: Rs 84.26/litre
