Petrol, Diesel Price Sept 2, 2022: Check Latest Fuel Prices In Your City Today

The price of both petrol and diesel remains unchanged on September 2, 2022, as Oil Marketing Companies decided to leave the prices steady. Earlier this year in July Maharashtra witnessed a decline in fuel prices after the state government declared a slash in Value-Added Tax or VAT on petrol by Rs 5 per litre and Rs 3 per litre on diesel.

The prices of both petrol and diesel have been constant since May 21 when finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman declared a slash in excise duty on petrol by Rs 8 per litre and Rs 6 per litre on diesel.

The price of one litre of petrol is in Delhi is recorded at Rs 96.72 per litre while the diesel price is Rs 89.62 per litre in the national capital. In Mumbai, the price of one litre of petrol is recorded at Rs 106.31 per litre and diesel price is available at Rs 94.27 per litre.

The prices of petrol and diesel vary in different cities all over India as a result of implementation of local taxes such as VAT and freight charges.

The public sector oil marketing companies that may include Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (BPCL), Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL), and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL) revise prices of fuel everyday keeping in line with benchmark global prices and foreign exchange rates. If any changes in the prices of petrol and diesel occur, it is implemented at 6 AM everyday.

Chandigarh: Petrol: Rs 96.20/litre, Diesel: Rs 84.26/litre
