Petrol, Diesel Prices Hike 2026: Jio-BP Increases Petrol By Rs 5/Litre, Diesel Up Rs 3; City-Wise Fuel Prices

In a major shocker, private fuel retailer Jio-BP has hiked petrol prices by Rs 5 per litre, while diesel prices are increased by Rs 3 per litre with effect from October 11, 2026. The prices will be implemented across 2,304 fuel pumps in India. The Jio-BP hike comes after another major private fuel company, Nayara Energy, hiked prices across 7,000 outlets this month. However, oil marketing companies have frozen regular fuel rates, widening the gap between PSU and private fuel retailers.

Elevated crude oil prices is the major reason to hike petrol and diesel prices. Brent crude is currently above $103 per barrel. Due to the US-Iran conflict, US WTI crude and Brent crude oil futures have rallied by 51% and 62.5% on year-on-year performance.

JIO-BP Petrol, Diesel Prices Hike

Now, petrol is priced at Rs 109.80 per litre across cities in Haryana and diesel is available at Rs 97.75 per litre.

Meanwhile, in Punjab cities, Jio-BP outlets will sell petrol at Rs 108.54 per litre and diesel at Rs 99.19 per litre.

Additionally, in Rajasthan, petrol prices range from Rs 113.91 to Rs 117.65 per litre, while diesel prices are from Rs 97.15 to Rs 100.78 depending on local taxes as well.

On October 3rd, Nayara Energy had hiked petrol prices by Rs 5 per litre and diesel by Rs 3 per litre across 7,108 petrol pumps.

On the other hand, OMCs are forced to bear the cost of not revising fuel prices this month.

"Brent crude settling near $104 a barrel continues to complicate India's macroeconomic outlook, limiting the relief from its recent pullback and keeping inflation risks elevated. Sustained high energy costs could restrict monetary-policy flexibility and squeeze margins across oil-sensitive sectors," said Hariselvan Radhakrishnan, Founder & CEO of HST Wealth.

Among the latest geopolitical development, as per Trading Economics, highlighted that President Donald Trump said his administration had reached an agreement for Russia to provide hundreds of thousands of tons of diesel fuel, signaling a partial easing of Moscow's export ban. Trump also claimed that Russia and Ukraine had agreed to an "energy ceasefire" that would take effect immediately. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia's main airport was targeted again on Sunday by Iran-backed Houthi militants, a day after an earlier strike killed 12 people and injured more than 300. The attacks prompted Trump to consider joining Saudi Arabia in retaliatory action against the Houthis in Yemen. However, Iran's Minister of Foreign Affairs Abbas Araghchi reportedly reached out to his counterpart in Riyadh to discuss about the region's recent escalation of events as well as the efforts to address it.

The disruption to oil and gas supply will continue to keep oil prices elevated and fuel costs higher.

IOCL, HPCL, BPCL: Petrol, Diesel Prices

In New Delhi, 1 litre petrol is available at Rs 102.12 and diesel at Rs 95.20. In Kolkata, petrol and diesel are priced at Rs 113.51 per litre and Rs 99.82 per litre respectively.

Further, in Mumbai and Chennai, petrol is priced at Rs 111.21 and Rs 107.77 per litre, while diesel is priced at Rs 97.83 and Rs 99.55 per litre.

In Bhubaneswar, diesel has crossed from Rs 100 marl to Rs 100.68 per litre, while petrol is available at Rs 108.97. In Bangalore, petrol and diesel are available at Rs 111.68 and Rs 99.56 respectively.

Also, in Noida, petrol and diesel are priced at Rs 101.96 and Rs 95.44 respectively.
