State-run oil marketers who fix fuel rates in the country are seen hiking petrol and diesel rates every alternate day. Today (June 20, 2021), fuel prices have again been hiked, taking fuel rates to fresh high across metros in the country.

After the fresh hike today of about 26-29 paise in petrol rates and 28 paise for diesel per litre, here are the petrol and diesel rates across metro cities:

Petrol and diesel rates vary across states owing to VAT and other charges. Petrol prices are most expensive in Bhopal and retailing at Rs. 105.33 per litre, while diesel quotes at Rs. 96.65 for a litre.

Since mid 2017, state run oil marketers have been following dynamic pricing model for fuel wherein fuel rates are revised everyday at 6 am based on the global fuel rates in the previous fortnight and foreign exchange rate.
