Petrol and diesel rates have been held steady for the seventeenth day in a row. After the last price hike, fuel rates in metros are as following:

Interestingly, since May after the assembly elections concluded in some of the states, price of fuel has been rising, with petrol prices now at a record high and already above Rs. 100 levels in most of the cities.

In the international markets, oil prices fell over 3% on the previous day owing to weak Chinese economic data as well as the US. While on the other hand higher crude supply from OPEC raised concerns of weakness in demand for the commodity amid oversupply. WTI benchmark of crude last traded up 0.44% at $71.57 per barrel, while Brent crude also was higher by the same level at $73.21.
