Petrol, Diesel Rate Unchanged On Sept 18; Prices To Increase Mirroring Gains In Crude Overseas

Petrol and diesel rates are constant today on September 18, 2021 for the last 13 days in a row. Oil marketers revise crude rates on a daily basis based on the international crude rate in the previous fortnight as well as exchange rate.

Last the rates were slashed on 5th September for both petrol and diesel, wherein petrol rates were cut by 13-15 paise, while diesel prices went lower by 14-15 paise.Consumers' expectations have been shattered after the petroleum products were not brought under GST. Furthermore in today's trade WTI benchmark of crude went down by 0.81% to $71.97 per barrel.

Now it is being viewed that in line with surge in international crude prices the retail selling price in India may see an increase as OMCs continue to face margin pressure.
