Petrol and diesel rates have again been hiked on July 15 (Thursday), taking them to record highs. Petrol prices have been hiked by 34-35 paise, while diesel saw an increase of 15-16 paise.

Petrol and diesel rates in your city can also be known by sending an SMS in the format RSP and city code to 9224992249. The code for your city can be known from the Indian Oil Corporation web site.
Notably, the major component of the fuel price are excise duty, VAT and dealer commission.
