Indices have recovered early trade losses and are up by 0.5 percent on the headline indices. The gains have been maintained in the Nifty Bank pack i.e up by close to 0.7 percent. Broader markets on the other hand were trading by a tad percentage in contrast to the headline indices.

Among the Nifty sectoral indices, pharma pack has been the most resilient in trade today with gains of over 1 percent at the time of writing this copy at around 1:49 pm.
Of the 20 constituents within the Nifty Pharma, 19 traded in the green, with the exception being Pfizer trading with a cut of 0.84 percent. On the upside, Laurus Labs, Natco Pharma have gained by between 3-4%.
Notably Torrent Pharma also trades close to its 52-week high price of Rs. 3250, with the day's high being Rs. 3160.20 per share.
Amid the new Omicron threats which are fast seeing an increase in case number in India, the momentum in the pack is likely to sustain through 2022.
