Planning to Visit Dubai? Indian Travelers Face Stricter Visa Requirements and Rising Rejection Rates

Indian travelers planning a visit to Dubai are facing huge challenges as an increasing number of visa applications are being rejected. The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has recently implemented stricter visa norms, leading to increased anxiety among these visitors. Many applicants have reported unexpected delays and outright rejections, disrupting their travel plans.

Surge in Visa Rejections for Indian Tourists

Travelers from India who had applied for their visa for their upcoming Dubai visit found themselves in a situation where their visa got rejected despite following all the necessary norms. Travel agents have reported a sharp rise in visa rejections, now reaching 5-6% daily compared to 1-2% previously as per TOI report. This spike has caused financial setbacks for applicants, as non-refundable flight tickets and hotel bookings added to the burden.

Dubai Visa

Nikhil Kumar, Director of Passio Travels Pvt Ltd, highlighted cases where travelers with all necessary documents faced rejection. "Even with confirmed flight tickets and hotel bookings, visas are being denied," Kumar told The Times of India.

The situation is particularly challenging as it coincides with the Dubai Shopping Festival, a peak travel period when hotel rates soar, as reported by Mint. Many travelers are losing huge amounts of money on their already booked travel tickets due to visa rejection and are expressing frustration.

Cases of families and groups facing financial loss due to a single member's visa denial are also on the rise. A group of 35, for example, suffered significant setbacks when one member's application was rejected.

Documents Required under UAE's New Visa Rule

The UAE government has brought up new regulations for travelers, which require them to present a lot of documents for their visa approval. Travelers are asked to follow these instructions strictly, as rejection in a visa can lead to long-term restrictions in travel.

Under the new UAE visa rules, applicants must present:

Confirmed flight tickets and hotel bookings.

Proof of accommodation for those staying with relatives, including the host's rental agreement, Emirates ID, and residence visa copy.

Impact on Travelers

As per the TOI report, many people have expressed their disappointment over this new issue as they have lost a huge sum of money not just on their visa application but also on their pre-booked flight tickets. Some of them reported facing multiple rejections, which left them frustrated.

Rishikesh Pujari, director of Vihar Travels, was quoted by TOI, saying, "Previously 99% of the visas used to be approved, but now travelers with proper documents are facing rejections.

Nilesh Bhansali, President of the Travel Agents Association of Pune, quoted by TOI, cautions against using fake documents, which can lead to outright rejections and future complications. He further advises travelers to thoroughly prepare documents and consult with experienced agents to minimize the risk of rejection.
