PM Internship Scheme 2024: In a major good news for young candidates, seeking for internships, the central government's PM Internship Scheme 2024 will open for registration on Saturday, October 12. As per reports, more than 90,000 jobs are likely available to apply from somewhat 196 companies. Companies like Accenture, Coal India, Ambuja Cement, Capgemini, IBM, Asian Paints, Bandhan Bank, Aditya Birla Grasim, Cipla, UPL, Adani Ports, and Wipro among others are in the list of offering jobs.
On its official website, the government notified, "The Portal is now open for Partner Companies. The portal will be open for youth registration and profile creation at 5 PM on 12 October 2024. Please stay connected for further updates."

What Is PM Internship Scheme 2024?
Government-backed PM Internship Scheme is an initiative focused on offering internship opportunities to youth in top 500 companies of the country. Under the scheme, youth will be have the opportunity to exposure to real-life business environments across sectors, helping them gain valuable skills and work experience. This scheme targets to offer one crore internships to youth over five years.
Candidates can apply for jobs in a host of sectors such as IT and Software Development, Banking and Financial Services, Oil, Gas & Energy, Metals & Mining, FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods), Telecom, Infrastructure & Construction, Retail & Consumer Durables, Cement & Building Materials, Automotive, Pharmaceutical, Aviation & Defence, Manufacturing & Industrial, Chemical, Media, Entertainment & Education, Agriculture and Allied, Consulting Services, Textile Manufacturing, Gems and Jewellery, Travel & Hospitality and Healthcare.
The internship scheme will enable youth to gain valuable experience, acquire new skills, and build important professional networks. Also, the companies under the scheme will provide internships in its forward and backward supply chain and in other companies in its Group or otherwise.
Benefits Of the PM Internship Scheme:
Firstly, the scheme will allow 12 months of real-life experience in India's top 500 companies.
Secondly, the scheme will offer monthly assistance of Rs 4500 by Government of India and Rs 500 by Industry.
Thirdly, there will be a one-time grant given to candidates for incidents.
Additionally, the scheme also offers insurance coverage such as under Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana and Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana by the Government of India.
Eligibility For PM Internship Scheme:
To apply for the PM Internship Scheme, you must meet the following criteria:
- You must be an Indian citizen.
- You must be aged between 21-24 years (as of the last date for submission of the application).
- You must not be employed full-time or engaged in full-time education (candidates enrolled in online or distance learning programmes are eligible).
- You must have completed your Secondary School Certificate (SSC) or its equivalent, Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) or its equivalent, or hold a certificate from an Industrial Training Institute (ITI), a diploma from a Polytechnic Institute, or a graduation degree such as BA, B.Sc, B.Com, BCA, BBA, B.Pharma, etc.
Reservations In the PM Internship Scheme:
Although there is no formal reservation provisions under the PM Internship scheme, the portal is designed to promote diversity and social inclusion. The algorithm ensures fair representation of all segments of the population, including SCs, STs, OBCs, and PwDs. The shortlisting process emphasizes diversity and inclusion, allowing companies to select candidates based on their criteria, while the portal ensures that candidates from diverse backgrounds are considered for internships. This approach helps promote social inclusivity in the program.
How To Apply Online For the PM Internship Scheme?
Step 1: Visit the official website of the PM Internship Scheme. Click On The Link Below:

Step 2: At the corner, there will be a 'Youth Registration' option. Click On it!
Step 3: You will be directed to another page, where you will be required to enter personal, educational, and professional details. After doing so, click to SUBMIT.
Step 4: After submitting, you will have the option of selecting 5 internship opportunities. Select the companies, based on your location, sector, and qualifications among others. There is a facility to modify and customize your application as per preferences.
Step 5: After completing the entire process, click on SUBMIT and Download the confirmation page. You can also keep a printed copy of the same.
As per the website, after you register and create your profile, you will be notified of the Internship opportunities on your registered email/mobile number. The option to choose from internship opportunities will be made available thereafter. There is no registration or application fee.
