PM Modi's 76th Birthday: BJP Launches Seva Sankalp Abhiyan Today, ‘Aashirwad Ka Diya' At 7 PM
Prime Minister Narendra Modi turns 76 today, on September 17, and to celebrate that the BJP has launched a month-long Seva Sankalp Abhiyan, which will cover welfare initiatives and community service activities.
Since this year is PM Modi's silver jubilee year in public service, which began with his appointment as Gujarat Chief Minister in October 2001, the campaign will run until October 17th with events planned across states in India.

People to Light "Aashirwad ka Diya"
Among the initiatives planned for the occasion is 'Aashirwad Ka Diya', in which beneficiaries of government welfare schemes and BJP workers have been requested to light diyas or earthen lamps at their homes on September 17.
One of the main activities planned for Modi's birthday is to light a lamp, which has been termed as 'Ek Diya Aashirwad Ka'
As per PIB, people have been called to light a diya at 7 PM on September 17 to express gratitude and prayers for PM Modi's long life.
Seva Sankalp Abhiyan
The Seva Sankalp Abhiyan is a new campaign by the BJP which will run for a month and consists of community service with public engagement programmes across the country.
September 17 will be observed as Seva Diwas and will involve activities such as blood donation camps and other voluntary services.
The initiative has been started mainly to talk about the importance of public service, celebrating Modi's birthday and his 25-year journey in public office.
PM Modi Birthday Celebration In Various States
PM's birthday celebration is going on in various BJP-ruled states.
In West Bengal, Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari announced a month-long Seva Sankalp Abhiyan from September 17. The programme is part of the campaign which is being organised by the BJP and its state units. It will mostly focus on service activities and public outreach during the celebration period.
Delhi is also where birthday-related programmes and government initiatives are being organised
The celebrations include welfare initiatives and development projects, with projects worth around Rs 13,800 crore.
In Madhya Pradesh, BJP national president Nitin Nabin visited Ujjain and lit a diya at Ram Ghat.
In Haryana, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini called on people to participate in the 7 PM lamp-lighting initiative.
As per the schedule, the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan will end on October 17.
