PM Modi To Inaugurate Boeing’s New Global Tech Campus In Bengaluru

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate American aircraft manufacturer Boeing's new state-of-the-art global engineering and technology innovation campus in Devanahalli on the outskirts of Bengaluru near the Kempegowda International Airport on January 19, official sources said on Wednesday, according to a PTI report.

The Prime Minister will also launch a transformational Boeing programme for greater participation of Indian women from across all walks of life in the Indian aviation sector, as per sources.

Built at a cost of Rs 1,600 crore, the 43-acre campus is set to emerge Boeing's largest such investment outside the US.

The campus at Hightech Defence and Aerospace Park in Devanahalli on the city outskirts is set to become a cornerstone for partnerships with the vibrant startups, private and government ecosystem in India, and will help develop next-generation products and services for the global aerospace and defence industry, they said, as per the PTI report.

PM Modi is also expected to launch Boeing Sukanya programme, which seeks to back entry of more girl children from across India into the country's growing aviation sector.

The programme will offer opportunities for girls and women to learn key skills in science, technology, engineering, and maths (STEM) fields and train for jobs in the booming aviation sector.

Earlier last year, Boeing declared a $100 million investment in infrastructure and programs to train pilots in India, according to reports.

Modi is expected to reach KIA in Bengaluru at around 2:10 pm today.
