PRAGATI Platform Boosts Chhattisgarh Projects

This initiative aligns with the vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat, giving a new direction to industrial growth. Similarly, the NTPC Lara Super Thermal Power Project in Raigarh district, with a 1,600 MW capacity, ensures uninterrupted electricity for Chhattisgarh and six other states.

Impact on Energy and Industrial Growth

The Lara Super Thermal Power Project has bolstered energy security and invigorated industrial and agricultural activities. Sai stated that this project has strengthened Chhattisgarh's role as a power hub in India. The project has not only increased power generation capacity but also brought stability to state and national energy systems.

During the 50th PRAGATI meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on December 31 in New Delhi, significant emphasis was placed on modernising the Bhilai Steel Plant. This plant's expansion was initially approved in 2007. Regular reviews and coordination through PRAGATI meetings have accelerated work progress, ensuring timely execution.

PRAGATI's Role in Project Monitoring

PRAGATI has developed a robust mechanism for monitoring projects, enabling continuous review and swift resolution of obstacles. The platform's objectives include rapid implementation and tangible outcomes, defining India's new work culture towards achieving Viksit Bharat @ 2047.

Over the past decade, projects worth over Rs 85 lakh crore have gained momentum through PRAGATI. These projects span sectors like infrastructure, energy, railways, roads, and coal across India. Several key projects from Chhattisgarh are part of this initiative.

Cooperative Federalism Strengthened

Prime Minister Modi emphasised that PRAGATI has infused new strength into cooperative federalism by enhancing speed and trust in development works through coordinated efforts between the Centre and states. The platform has provided renewed momentum to significant projects like the Bhilai Steel Plant modernisation.

The completion of these projects has led to substantial growth in Chhattisgarh's industrial development, energy capacity, investment, employment, and allied economy. Chief Minister Sai expressed confidence that with regular monitoring through PRAGATI, Chhattisgarh will continue to play a decisive role in achieving a Developed India by 2047.
