The summit will foster discussions with international industrial leaders to develop a pro-industry action plan.

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann recently led a meeting to assess preparations for the Progressive Punjab Investment Summit. Scheduled from March 13 to 15 in Mohali, this summit aims to significantly boost industrial growth in Punjab, which is already a preferred investment hub globally. Mann highlighted that the event will serve as a pivotal platform for transforming the state's industrial landscape.

Punjab Investment Summit to Boost Industry

The summit, themed "Punjab Means Business - Policy to Practice," will focus on showcasing investment opportunities with maximum incentives nationwide. Mann emphasised the importance of collective discussions, stating, "A consensus will be evolved to further chalk out a pro-industry action plan for the overall industrial development in the state after marathon discussions with international industrial giants."

Investment Opportunities and Global Interest

Mann noted that the summit presents a significant opportunity for investors. He stated, "The summit will be a platform to showcase the investment opportunities in the state offering maximum incentives across the nation." The event has garnered substantial interest from both domestic and international industrial leaders eager to participate.

To promote the summit, the state government has conducted roadshows in various Indian cities such as Gurugram, New Delhi, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Mumbai. Additionally, international roadshows have been held in countries like Japan and South Korea. These efforts aim to attract global investors and highlight Punjab's potential as an investment destination.

Industrialisation as Economic Rejuvenation

Mann reiterated his commitment to revitalising Punjab's economy through industrialisation. He remarked that agriculture, the state's economic backbone, has reached its peak. Therefore, extensive industrialisation is essential for rejuvenating the stagnant economy. The state government is dedicated to enhancing investment and industrial infrastructure.

The Chief Minister praised Punjabis' leadership and entrepreneurial skills, stating they can achieve remarkable feats worldwide due to their determination and resilience. He expressed confidence that these qualities would contribute significantly to Punjab's industrial growth.

So far, the state has attracted investment proposals worth Rs 1.50 lakh crore. These investments are expected to generate 5.20 lakh job opportunities for young people in Punjab. The government's efforts aim to create a conducive environment for businesses and investors alike.

This summit is anticipated to be a turning point for Punjab's industrial sector. By fostering collaboration between local entrepreneurs and international investors, it seeks to lay a strong foundation for future economic prosperity in the region.
