After filing with the stock exchange on the operations resumption update, Rathi Steel and Power Limited (RSPL) started the commercial activity of their Steel Melting Shop in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, on 29th April 2025. This was a critical step in the company's operational growth plan.
Rathi Steel's in-house production capabilities are complemented by the Ghaziabad Steel Melting Shop, which is set to manufacture steel billets and is critical for the company's long-term growth plans. This comes after the announcement from the company on 15 April 2025 about the resumption.

The RSPL has received further approvals from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) for high-strength deformed stainless steel reinforcement bars with added SS 550 and SS 500 grades of 8 mm diameter under the existing license. Now, Rathi Steel has the ability to manufacture the complete product range of SS 550 and SS 500 from 8 mm to 32 mm tempered rebars, thus bolstering capacity utilisation and product supply proportional to augmenting market requirements. The current BIS license is effective till 1st February, 2026.
In March 2025, promoters purchased 13,70,001 equity stakes, which pushed their shares to 41.30% compared to 2024's December figure of 38%. In the March 2025 quarter, FII pledged stake was 8.63%, whereas in the December 2024 quarter, or Q3FY25, it was 8.94%. The stock is currently trading at the Rs 24.50 mark, which is still significantly better than its 52 week low of Rs 97.81 and a whopping 1,300% increase after 5 years from what Rathi Steel was providing.
Rathi Steel and Power Limited, which was incorporated in 1971, is considered a major supplier of flat stainless steel as well as engineering wire rods. These two products are usually used for household use and infrastructure. Rathi Steel is a key player in the manufacturing of steel in India, which puts them at the forefront of all things steel-related. The company is also known for having a rolling mill with a productivity of 2,00,000 tons per year, alongside a smaller but still impressive steel melting workshop of 90,000 tons every year.
Considering the recent changes in Rathi Steel, with the reopening of new facilities and new certifications, they are now positioned right where the need is for new businesses to be set up for infrastructure and steel. They are sure to gain a massive supply of work in both industries, which will prove beneficial for them in the long run.
