Pushpa 2: The Rule Box Office Collection: The Allu Arjun starrer movie has become a mega blockbuster, dethroning superhits like Baahubali 2, RRR, and KGF. Pushpa 2 is currently racing towards dethroning Amir Khan's Dangal which holds the most-grossed movie in Indian cinema history. However, there has been slight pushback since Pushpa 2's OTT was released on Netflix on January 30. As per reports, Pushpa 2 has likely consumed its powerful run in theatres after eight weeks.
Pushpa 2 Box Office Collection:
Data from Wikipedia showed that Pushpa 2: The Rule's worldwide gross box office collection is currently around Rs 1,800 crore. This led the movie to surpass the box office collection of Baahubali 2: The Conclusion whose worldwide gross collection is about Rs 1,747-1,810.60 crore.
Now, Pushpa 2 is clearly on the path to overtaking Amir Khan starrer Dangal movie whose box office collection is roughly Rs 1,914-2,200 crore.
In less than two months since its release, Pushpa 2 box office collection overtook super duper hits like RRR and KGF: Chapter 2 who recorded box office collections of Rs 1,260-1,387 crore and Rs 1,187-1,250 crore respectively.
Notably, of the top 5 most grossed movies in India, three of them belong to Telugu films, while Kannada film KGF holds the 5th spot. Dangal is the only Bollywood movie that has stayed on the top rank after its release in 2016.
Puspha 2 OTT Release:
Pushpa 2's OTT was released on Netflix on January 30, which is an extended version of the movie. The Allu Arjun and RasRashmika Mandanna starrer film is about 3 hours and 44 minutes long. It can be viewed in four languages such as Telugu, Hindi, Tamil and Malayalam. Notably, the Kannada version of Pushpa 2 is yet to be released on OTT.
As per Koimoi's report, coming to the box office update of Pushpa 2 (Hindi), the film saw some impact due to its OTT release. Yesterday was the 57th day in theatres, and with the OTT premiere taking place, the collection witnessed a drop of 26%. On the eighth Wednesday, the film earned 19 lakh, which dropped to 14 lakh on the eighth Thursday. This could be a routine drop, but it has to have some effect on OTT availability.
The Indian Telegu-language movie Puspha 2 hit the Indian multiplexes on December 5, 2024. Directed by Sukumar and produced by Mythri Movie Makers, it is a sequel to Pusha: The Rise, which was released in 2021.
With a similar storyline that revolves around the smuggling of Red Sandalwood, Pushpa, is played by Allu Arjun. The South Indian megastar is paired with Rashmika Mandanna, who is playing the role of his wife Srivalli. Pushpa's setback in the movie would be IPS officer SP Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat, played by Fahadh Faasil. After being humiliated by Pushpa in the first movie, Shekhawat vowed to take revenge and destroy Pushpa.
