PVR INOX Shares Climb To New 52Week High; Firm To Consider First-Ever Share Buyback On Aug 31

Shares of multiplex chain operator PVR INOX Ltd. are in focus on Tuesday, August 25, after the company announced that its board will meet on August 31st, to consider a proposal for a buyback of equity shares.

PVR INOX shares opened at Rs. 1249 per share and is currently trading at Rs. 1235.90 apiece on the NSE. The stock has gained more than 10% in the last one month and around 22% so far in 2026. The company's market capitalization is currently at Rs.11.95k cr

The company said the board will consider a buyback of its equity shares with a face value of Rs. 10 each. The record date for the proposed buyback will be announced later.

According to the company's exchange filing, "the proposed buyback could be carried out either through the tender offer route or the open market route".

Details such as the buyback size, price, and number of shares to be repurchased will be decided by the board. Based on data available on the BSE, this would be the first time PVR INOX is considering a share buyback.

PVR INOX reported its Q1 FY27 financial results on July 23rd, when the company returned to profitability with a net profit of Rs. 56.50 crore compared to a net loss in the same quarter last year. Revenue from operations grew 11.9% YoY to Rs. 1,622.20 crore, all because of better box office collections and higher cinema footfalls.
