Rajasthan agriculture budget 2026-27 focuses on farmer welfare, 2047 crop targets, says Bhajanlal Sharma

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma says the state is prioritising farmer welfare and raising farm output through the Developed Rajasthan 2047 roadmap with crop-wise targets. He cites a 34 per cent increase in the agriculture budget to INR 1,19,408 crore for 2026-27, alongside support for processing units, milk production, and modern techniques such as sprinkler irrigation.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma said on Tuesday the state government kept working for farmers welfare. Sharma also said Rajasthan was "touching new heights in agriculture\". Sharma spoke during the inauguration session of a conference. Sharma said the double-engine government in the state stayed focused on strengthening farming.

Rajasthan boosts farm budget

Sharma said, \"Our government is working continuously in the interest of farmers. We have prepared the Developed Rajasthan 2047 roadmap with crop-wise targets,\". Sharma said the state raised the agriculture budget by 34 per cent. Sharma said Rs 1,19,408 crore was allocated for 2026-27.

In an official statement, the chief minister linked the roadmap to long-term farm planning. Sharma said Rajasthan ranked first in India for bajra production. Sharma also named mustard and isabgol among leading crops. Sharma said the government aimed to raise farmers income with processing units.

Sharma said efforts also focused on higher milk production across the state. Sharma asked farmers to move beyond only traditional choices. Sharma urged adding modern crops alongside existing ones. Sharma said this approach supported steady earnings for farmers.

Rajasthan agriculture and scientific methods for farmers

The chief minister said farmers needed scientific methods to raise profits. Sharma said modern practices could make farming more profitable than jobs or businesses. Sharma urged the use of modern agricultural techniques. Sharma highlighted sprinkler irrigation systems as one key option.

Sharma raised concern about heavy use of chemical fertilisers. Sharma appealed to farmers to apply fertilisers as per soil health cards. Sharma said this could protect soil fertility for future generations. Sharma said better soil care also supported stable crop output.

Rajasthan agriculture and animal husbandry integration

Sharma also asked farmers to link agriculture with animal husbandry. Sharma said natural manure could increase with this approach. Sharma said it could lower input costs for farmers. Sharma said the same steps could help improve farmers income across Rajasthan.

Highlighting government performance, Sharma said more work was delivered than the previous government. Sharma said the administration remained committed to strengthening farming. Sharma repeated that Rajasthan was reaching new heights in agriculture. Sharma said the government would keep acting in farmers interest.
