Rajasthan Government Focuses on Key Challenges in Water, Irrigation, and Power Supply for Agriculture

Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma highlighted the Rajasthan government's focus on solving issues in water, irrigation, and power. These sectors are crucial for agriculture, industries, and tourism. He spoke during a session on agri-business at the Rising Rajasthan Summit. The session was titled "Agri-Business Innovations: Moving up the Value Chain."

Rajasthan Government Addresses Water and Power Issues

Sharma stated that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, Rajasthan is prioritising these challenges. "In the near future, we will implement a comprehensive water management system to ensure reliable irrigation and a consistent supply of electricity to our farmers. Our commitment to making Rajasthan self-reliant in the power sector is unwavering," he added.

Mechanised Farming and Financial Support

Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan addressed the difficulties in finding farming labour. He emphasised mechanised farming to boost efficiency and productivity. Chauhan mentioned efforts to provide farmers with easy access to loans at low interest rates. This financial support aims to help them invest in modern agricultural tools and technologies.

Rajasthan Agriculture Minister Kirodi Lal Meena noted the state's strong position in agriculture, dairy products, and animal husbandry. He expressed optimism about a new era of agricultural development under capable leadership at both state and central levels.

The government plans to introduce a comprehensive water management system soon. This initiative aims to ensure reliable irrigation and consistent electricity supply for farmers. Sharma reiterated the government's dedication to making Rajasthan self-sufficient in the power sector.

Chauhan stressed the importance of mechanisation in farming due to labour shortages. By focusing on mechanised farming, they aim to enhance productivity and efficiency. The government is also working hard to make loans more accessible for farmers.

Meena highlighted Rajasthan's agricultural strengths and its leading position in dairy and animal husbandry. He believes that under strong leadership, the state will witness significant agricultural advancements.

The summit session underscored the state's commitment to addressing key challenges in agriculture-related sectors. By focusing on water management, power supply, and mechanisation, Rajasthan aims for sustainable growth in agriculture and related industries.
