Rajasthan Industrial Development Policy 2026 targets semiconductors, GCCs, and a USD 350 billion economy

Rajasthan has approved the Rajasthan Industrial Development Policy-2026 to attract investment in semiconductors, data centres, defence manufacturing, and renewable energy. Industry Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore said the plan is built on green growth, governance, growth, and globalisation, with incentives for GCCs, logistics, IT services, recycling, and tourism, and a single-window clearance system.

The Rajasthan cabinet cleared a new industrial policy on Friday, aiming to draw major investment. The plan targets areas like semiconductors, data centres, defence production and renewable energy. Ministers said the measures are meant to support new factories and services. The government also took decisions on pensions, land allotment and a water conservation campaign.

Rajasthan approves Industry Policy 2026

Industry Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore said the Rajasthan Industrial Development Policy-2026 seeks to make the state a global industrial hub. Rathore said the policy rests on four pillars. The pillars are green growth, governance, growth and globalisation. Rathore said the plan sets a goal to lift the economy to USD 350 billion by 2028-29.

Rajasthan Industrial Development Policy-2026 incentives for investment

Under the Rajasthan Industrial Development Policy-2026, incentives are proposed for several business segments. These include semiconductor units, global capability centres GCCs, and IT services. The plan also covers logistics, warehousing, recycling plants and tourism-linked industries. Rathore also listed textiles, handicrafts, gems and jewellery, agro-processing and dairy as focus sectors.

Rathore said the policy changes the approvals process to make investment easier. The framework adds self-certification and auto-renewal for eligible cases. It also provides deemed approvals in certain situations. These steps sit within a single-window clearance system. The government said the approach is meant to reduce delays for industrial proposals.

Rajasthan Industrial Development Policy-2026 and cabinet land decisions

The cabinet, chaired by CM Bhajanlal Sharma, approved land allotment for some industrial expansion plans. The decision covered units including JK Cement and Dalmia Cement. The projects are in Jaisalmer district, as per the cabinet decision. The government said the expansion work is expected to create local employment in the area.

Alongside the industry decisions, the cabinet approved changes to the Rajasthan Civil Services Pension Rules, 1996. Pensioners will be able to submit life certificates using face authentication on mobile applications. The amendments also cover specially abled dependents. Such dependents will now submit disability certificates only once, not every three years.

Rajasthan Industrial Development Policy-2026 alongside water conservation plans

The cabinet also reviewed readiness for the Vande Ganga Jal Sanrakshan-Jan Abhiyan campaign. The programme is planned across the state from May 25 to June 5. Officials said the campaign focuses on water conservation and environmental awareness. The review took place during the same meeting that approved the new industrial policy and other measures.
