On Thursday, 24 Karat gold rose by Rs 289 per gram to Rs 14,973, while 22 Karat gold climbed to Rs 13,725 per gram. Meanwhile, silver prices remained unchanged at Rs 2.40 lakh per kilogram.

The rally in domestic gold prices mirrored gains in the international market, where spot gold climbed to its highest level in seven weeks. The precious metal was supported by a weaker US dollar and softer US Treasury yields, as improving expectations surrounding the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz boosted investor sentiment while continuing geopolitical uncertainties kept demand for safe-haven assets intact.
"Gold and Silver prices climbed on reports of a possible deal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, easing inflation concerns and reducing near-term Fed rate-hike expectations. Qatar cited progress in U.S.-Iran mediation, though Tehran denied Trump's claim that talks were underway," said Prithviraj Kothari, Managing Director at RiddiSiddhi Bullions Ltd., President of IBJA.
