Ranabaali Movie Review:
On the whole, Ranabaali is a period action drama that features sincere effort but delivers only a moderate impact. The famine concept hasn't been explored before, and the first half is decent. However, the movie gets bogged down by a predictable and below-par second half. The narrative choices aren't great, and the lengthy runtime is another major shortcoming. Vijay Deverakonda delivers an honest performance, but the movie doesn't completely live up to its potential, as per 123Telugu movie critics.
Meanwhile, Venky Reviews through X said, "The director sincerely tries to tell real stories/events set against a beaten to death British backdrop, but the dead slow screenplay and flat narration test your patience. VD-Rashmika's portions provide some relief and are the film's main highlight, but the film lacks the emotional connect a subject like this needs and feels lifeless and tiring for long stretches."
"Production values and set design stand out. VD's effort is visible and he gives a sincere performance, though his characterization and histrionics feel odd at times. BGM is a huge letdown, and the film badly needs trimming. Sincere effort, but a strictly boring watch," Venky's note added.
On the other hand, Let's X OTT Global Reviews said, "The film builds towards a strong, impactful climax that delivers on its central premise," adding, "Despite a few pacing issues in the second half, it offers a compelling theatrical experience with some memorable moments."
Earlier, OTT Global reported that the film has clocked 10K+ ticket sales per hour on BookMyShow alone in the early hours of Friday.
