RBI Increases Trading Timings, Market Starts From 9 AM
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has increased the trading timing in the stock market for various markets. The central bank of India commented, "With the substantial easing of restrictions on the movement of people and functioning of offices, it has now been decided to restore the opening time for regulated financial markets to their pre-pandemic timing of 9:00 AM." The increase in trading time has been effective from Today, April 18, 2022.
according to the RBI, trading at RBI regulated markets such as market repo in government securities, Tri-party repo in government securities, commercial paper and certificates of deposit, Repo in Corporate Bonds, Foreign Currency/Indian Rupee (INR) Trades including Forex Derivatives, Rupee Interest Rate Derivatives, will begin from 9:00 AM.
Due to Covid norms, the market was starting from 10 AM, till today. The pandemic resulted in operational dislocations and high health risks. However, the central bank thinks that the market can operate at the pre-Covid level now.
