The apex banking authority RBI on Wednesday unveiled the MANI mobile app in a bid to assist visually impaired individuals in identifying currency notes. Through the app which will also work on an offline basis once it is downloaded, users can know denomination of the bank note, said RBI.

'MANI' meaning Mobile Aided Note Identifier will work by scanning bank note using the camera and thereafter the audio output giving the results will be in both Hindi and English language.
Nonetheless, the app will not be able to authenticate the genuineness of the currency note.
RBI governor Das together with other officials on Wednesday launched the mobile app that is available on both iOS and Android operating systems.

Scroll down the page to the “Permission” section .
Here click on the “Settings” tab of the Notification option.
A pop up will open with all listed sites, select the option “ALLOW“, for the respective site under the status head to allow the notification.
Once the changes is done, click on the “Save Changes” option to save the changes.
