RCB To Provide Rs. 10 Lakh Compensation for Bengaluru Stampede Victims' Families, Launches ‘RCB Cares' Fund

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) has officially announced a compensation of Rs. 10 lakh each for the families of the eleven victims who lost their lives in the Bengaluru stampede during the RCB victory parade at Chinnaswamy Stadium. The tragic incident, which occurred on the evening of 4th June during the RCB celebration in Bangalore, has saddened the entire country.

In a statement, RCB management said, "The unfortunate incident in Bengaluru yesterday has caused a lot of anguish and pain to the RCB family. As a mark of respect and a gesture of solidarity, RCB has announced a financial support of Rs. 10 lakh to each of the eleven families of the deceased."

'RCB Cares' Fund Announced for Injured Fans

Along with the compensation, RCB also launched a special relief initiative called 'RCB Cares', which will help fans who were injured during the stampede at Chinnaswamy Stadium. The franchise said that this fund is a symbol of their solidarity and long-term support.

"A fund called RCB Cares is also being created to support fans injured in this tragic incident. We remain united in grief," the team added.

What Actually Happened During the RCB Parade?

The RCB victory parade was organised on the 4th of June to celebrate the RCB IPL trophy win. Lacs of RCB fans & supporters gathered outside Chinnaswamy Stadium, which was too much for the local security and infrastructure to handle. The stampede in Bangalore has raised serious questions about event safety and crowd control. There are certain reports which suggest that closure of nearby metro stations added to the chaos. The tragedy led to public outrage and demands for stricter safety protocols for large public gatherings in Bengaluru.

What Are the Compensations Announced for the Family of the Deceased ?

Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has ordered a probe into the incident and promised government compensation alongside the relief announced by RCB. The government has pledged Rs 10 lakh compensation to the families of each of the deceased. The Karnataka government will also provide free medical care to those injured.

Additionally, the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) has issued a statement where they will provide Rs 5 lakh to each unfortunate family.
