Online bus ticket booking platform redBus has launched a unique pre-registration facility using which users looking to travel by bus can know of the restart of their desired bus routes in this uncertain hour when there are placed restrictions in movement across cities.

Prakash Sangam, CEO, redBus, said while launching the service said, "As we near the end of the nationwide lockdown, we strongly believe that the 'pre-registration' feature will go a long way in helping anxious travellers be informed on the opening up of their specific routes and enable them to book tickets conveniently at the earliest possible time. This pre-registration service coupled with the steps taken by our bus operator partners to ensure safety measures during travel, from sanitization of the bus to social distancing, is sure to help bus travellers undertake their intercity commute in a safe and convenient manner."

How to use the pre-registration facility on redBus?

For availing this service, one would need to provide basic inputs such as contact number, e-mail address together with the desired bus route which one wants to keep track of on a single-page document. Once registered, users can also share the feature with other friends and family members who also intend to commute long distance and have been stuck in the wake of nationwide lockdown due to coronavirus on various social media channels.

And as and when the bus service resumes on that route, user will be informed via sms, e-mail, push notification.

Soon, the facility shall also be made available on the company's website and app, where they will need to click on 'Notify me' button when the bus to their desired route is not available.

As per the survey by the company, 59% travellers showed their intent to travel outstation within a month of travel restrictions being eased..

But RTC or road travel corporation as well as private bus operators will resume their service at varying times based on the state's control over the spread of coronavirus infection.
