Reliance Jio Customers Can Recharge Others Account; Earn Comission
Close on the heels of Airtel, Vodafone Idea, now Reliance Jio has come up with a system where users can recharge for anyone in their network and earn commission of 4%.
This is at the time when TRAI has also been pushing on extending the validity of customer's plans so that they can still receive incoming calls in such challenging times.
The company has come up with JioPOS Lite app on Google Play store, from where a customer can download it and start recharging the phone of any subscriber on its network.
"There is a joining fee of Rs 1,000 but the company has waived it off as an introductory offer. Jio customers downloading this app will have to load a minimum of Rs 1,000 for the first time and thereafter they can load recharge for sale for a minimum value of Rs 200," a source told PTI.
The app has recorded over 5 lakh downloads till date.
The source said this will give Jio customers to get their phones recharged even if shops are shut during the lockdown period.
COAI, the telecom body, has estimated the value of benefits extended to people at the bottom of the pyramid to more than Rs. 600 crore during the current lockdown. Further the government said through Rs. 51,500 which are lying unused as universal service obligation fund benefits should be further extended.
