Reliance Jio Launches ‘Happy New Year’ Plan Worth Rs. 2020

Reliance Jio has come up with a 'Happy New Year' plan priced at Rs. 2020, with a validity of one year. In it customers on paying Rs. 2020 will get unlimited calling service as well as 1.5 GB data per day for a year's time.

In October this year, the company launched Diwali Dhamaka offer for Rs. 1699 and in its comparison the new offering is costlier by 19%. The earlier plan worth Rs. 1699 offered similar services with 1.5 GB data per day and unlimited calling for free for a year. The Rs. 2020 plan can also be subscribed by customers who possess Jiophone.

Earlier in December this year, Mukesh-Ambani led telecom company for the first time since its entry into the sector in 2016 raised its tariff rates after rival companies Bharti Airtel and Vodafone Idea hiked tariffs by up to 40% for its several prepaid mobile plans.

If analysts are to be believed the new offering will not significantly impact the telecom major's average revenue per user (Arpu).
