Reliance Retail's e-commerce platform Reliance JioMart made its Whatsapp number live gaining access to 400 million users on the platform amid the country's lockdown situation.
The initiation of the platform gives the conglomerate a kick-start to its ambition of taking on the rival firms' including Walmart's Flipkart as well as Amazon. As per the Big 4 firm KPMG, India's e-commerce market is slated to grow to $200 billion by 2027. "The roll out is happening during the toughest of times considering the supply chain constraints," said Vikraman P.N., founder of Finnoviti Consulting Pvt.
