Reliance To Launch Green Energy Business of Rs 75000 Crore in the Next Three Years

Last year, Ambani presented his vision for Reliance and India's next significant value creation engine, our New Energy and New Materials company. He also revealed our 15-year goal of becoming carbon-neutral by 2035.

In 2021, Reliance will create a new energy business with the goal of bridging the green energy divide in India and around the world.

Over the next three years, billionaire Mukesh Ambani plans to invest Rs. 75,000 crore in four "Giga" factories to produce solar photovoltaic cells, green hydrogen, batteries, and fuel cells.

Reliance To Launch Green Energy Business of Rs 75000 Crore in the Next Three Yea

"By 2030, Reliance will have installed and enabled at least 100 GW of solar energy. Rooftop solar and decentralised solar installations in communities will account for a major portion of this. These will boost and thrive rural India tremendously "according to Ambani.

Solar energy is only available during the day, whereas power is required 24 hours a day. As a result, storage is a key puzzle piece to solve. RIL will start its second effort, an Advanced Energy Storage Giga Factory, to help with this.

The firm has formed the Reliance New Energy Council, which includes some of the world's brightest brains. They will assist us in validating our ideas and embracing disruptive approaches to achieving our objectives.

In America, Europe, Australia, and Asia, we are forming a coalition of relationships with leading global universities, the best technological businesses, and the most promising start-ups. We'll also use our existing strengths and capabilities in digitization platforms and large-scale manufacturing to good use.
