Relief! Fuel Prices Unchanged On July 6 After Touching Record High

The price of petrol remained unchanged on July 6 after reaching a new record high on the previous day, according to a price notification by state-owned fuel retailers. The diesel price remained stable for the second consecutive day.

The increase on July 5 brought the petrol price in Delhi closer to Rs 100 per litre for the 35th time in two months. According to Bharat Petroleum's price list, the price of petrol in the national capital has risen to Rs 99.9 per litre while the price of diesel has risen to Rs 89.4 per litre.

Petrol and diesel prices have remained steady in the latest review of rates posted on the Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL) website on Tuesday. Domestic oil firms raised the price of petrol by 35 to 36 paise on Monday.

Now, the two metro cities selling petrol for Rs 100 and above are Mumbai and Chennai, while Delhi and Kolkata are only a short distance away from reaching the crucial Rs 100 mark.

Petrol is currently sold for Rs 100 and over in roughly 15 states and districts, while diesel in Madhya Pradesh has also surpassed the Rs 100 level.
