Gold rates in India continued their upward journey for the second consecutive day on Friday, September 4, 2026, coinciding with the celebration of Krishna Janmashtami across the country. The 24 Karat (24K) gold price recorded a sharp two-day gain of Rs 46,400 per 100 grams, extending its recovery amid steady international prices and growing focus on the upcoming US employment data.
The price of 24K gold rose Rs 131 to Rs 15,666 per gram on Friday. Meanwhile, 22K gold gained Rs 120 to Rs 14,360 per gram, while 18K gold increased Rs 98 to Rs 11,749 per gram.
Gold Prices Rise for Second Straight Day on Janmashtami; Silver Prices Remain Steady
In the international market, gold remained largely steady and was on track for a modest weekly gain as investors turned their attention to the closely watched US nonfarm payrolls data. The report could provide fresh clues about the Federal Reserve's next interest rate decision. Meanwhile, silver prices remained unchanged in India on Friday. Silver was priced at Rs 250 per gram and Rs 2,50,000 per kilogram.

24 Karat Gold Rate Today in India
The price of 24 Karat gold rose Rs 131 to Rs 15,666 per gram on Friday. The rate for 8 grams increased by Rs 1,048 to Rs 1,25,328, while 10 grams gained Rs 1,310 to reach Rs 1,56,660. Meanwhile, the price of 100 grams of 24K gold climbed Rs 13,100 to Rs 15,66,600.
22 Karat Gold Rate Today in India
The price of 22 Karat gold increased by Rs 120 to Rs 14,360 per gram. The rate for 8 grams rose Rs 960 to Rs 1,14,880, while 10 grams gained Rs 1,200 to reach Rs 1,43,600. For 100 grams, the price climbed Rs 12,000 to Rs 14,36,000.
18 Karat Gold Rate Today in India
Meanwhile, 18 Karat gold rose Rs 98 to Rs 11,749 per gram. The price of 8 grams increased by Rs 784 to Rs 93,992, while 10 grams gained Rs 980 to reach Rs 1,17,490. The rate for 100 grams of 18 Karat gold also rose by Rs 9,800 to Rs 11,74,900.

Silver prices remained unchanged in India on Friday, September 4. The price of silver stood at Rs 250 per gram, the same as the previous day.
The rate for 8 grams of silver remained steady at Rs 2,000, while 10 grams continued to cost Rs 2,500. Similarly, the price of 100 grams of silver was unchanged at Rs 25,000. For larger quantities, 1 kilogram of silver was priced at Rs 2,50,000, with no change from the previous session.
"Gold and silver rebounded Thursday as the dollar and Treasury yields eased, with markets bracing for Friday's pivotal U.S. nonfarm payrolls report - a key input for Fed policy expectations. Geopolitically, Trump aides are working to prevent the Iran conflict from escalating before November's midterms, though a more aggressive military stance could follow the November 3 vote," said Mr. Prithviraj Kothari, Managing Director at RiddiSiddhi Bullions Ltd., President of India Bullion and Jewellers Association.
