RRB Group D Recruitment Notification 2025: Why Candidates Are Demanding 1 Lakh Level 1 Railway Jobs?

RRB Recruitment 2025:: #RailwayLevel1_1Lakh_VacancyDo emerged among top trending topic in India, on the platform X formerly known as Twitter. Netizens flooded the Elon Musk-backed social media platform, demanding for 1 lakh vacancies under the latest job vacancies announced for Group-D level 1 position by the Railway Recruitment: Railway Recruitment Board. The RRB initially opened the application process for Group D recruitment from January 23rd onward, however, is only offering up to 32,438 positions which was unwelcomed by majority railway job seekers.

As per the Trends24 data, which tracks trending topics and tweets on X, revealed that #RailwayLevel1_1Lakh_PostDo was the second most tweeted topic in the last 24 hours, with 16 million tweets, only a million away from 17 million tweet with the topic 'Trump' which was the most tweeted topic. Following this, there were 7.5 million tweets related to #RailwayLevel1_1Lakh_VacancyDo, holding the third most tweeted rank of the day. The other hot tweeted topic was of रेलवे ग्रुप which means Railway Group with 3.1 million tweets.

The netizens demanded 1 lakh jobs in the Group-D against the initial 32,438 positions. One user named Rajgarh Mamta said, "After 5 years, there is a vacancy in the railways and that too is like a drop in the ocean!," adding, "There were 64,000 posts in 2019, now only 32,000? This is injustice to crores of youth. The number of posts should be increased to 1 lakh!."

One user said, "Railway had made ITI compulsory for technical posts due to which candidates are sitting with their ITI degree." Hence, he demand for Railways to open 1 lakh vacancies.

RRB Recruitment 2025 Application Dates:

RRB released the latest job opening for 32,438 job vacancies as for Level 1 posts. Online submission of applications is opened from January 23, which will close on February 22, 2025. Hence, a span of one month will be allowed for candidates to apply. The closing date and time for application fee payment is fixed on February 24, 2025.

RRB Recruitment 2025 Salary:

The initial pay will be Rs 18,000 based on the 7th CPC Pay Matrix.

RRB Recruitment 2025 Eligibility:

To be eligible, candidates must already have the Educational/Technical qualifications prescribed in the CEN from a recognized Institute/University as of the last date (i.e. 22.02.2025) for submission of ONLINE application. It said, "Those awaiting results of their final examination of the prescribed minimum educational/technical qualification SHOULD NOT apply."

Diploma /Degree in Engineering will not be accepted in lieu of Course Completed Act
Apprentices/ITI for the post of Level-1 unless otherwise specified. Graduate Act apprentice will not be accepted in lieu of Course Completed Act Apprenticeship (CCAA), it said.

RRB Recruitment 2025 Age Limit:

The minimum age limit for applying is 18 years which can stretch up to maximum 36 years of age. However, RRB also said, to provide relief to many candidates who may have exceeded the age limit and missed the opportunity to participate in Railway recruitment due to the Covid-19 pandemic, it has been decided to grant a one-time age relaxation of 3 years beyond the prescribed upper age limit.

RRB Recruitment Examination Fee:

Candidates applying for the posts in this CEN have to pay the prescribed fee as per their category.

For candidates belonging to the general category will have to pay fee of Rs 500 as examination fee. Out of this fee of 500 an amount of 400 shall be refunded in due course duly deducting bank charges as applicable on appearing in CBT.

The examination fee is lower to Rs 250 for candidates belonging to PwBD / Female /Transgender/ Ex-Servicemen candidates and candidates belonging to SC/ST/Minority Communities/ Economically Backward Class (EBC). (Caution to Candidates: EBC should not be confused with OBC or EWS). This fee of 250 shall be refunded in due course duly deducting bank charges as applicable on appearing in CBT.
