At the time of writing, NMDC stock price plunged nearly 2% to trade around Rs 73.77 apiece on BSE, with market cap of Rs 64,857.24 crore. The stock was near to its intraday low of Rs 73.50 apiece.
The reason behind the stock decline is the drop in sales for the September month. Not just that sales has been broadly mute in six-monthly performance of FY27, despite production rising.
NMDC Dividend Record Date
NMDC turned ex-dividend on October 5th for its upcoming final dividend payout of Rs 1 per share for FY26. In total, the company is paying up to Rs 3.50 per share dividends for the financial year 2025-26.
NMDC is among the top dividend-paying PSU stocks. As per Trendlyne data, the company delivered up to 48 dividends since August 2003. At the current market price, it has a dividend yield of 4.73%.
To become eligible for NMDC's dividend payout, investors will need to hold its shares in their demat account by the end of the record date. For Rs 1 per share dividend, the record date is fixed on October 5, 2026.
Eligible investors will get Rs 1 dividend per equity share in their demat account.

As per the regulatory filing, NMDC recorded total productions of 4.04 MT in September 2026, higher from 3.75 MT in the same month last year. While its sales stood at 3.51 MT, which dropped from 3.88 MT in September last year.
For H1FY27, NMDC's productions rose to 27.27 MT from 22.20 MT in H1FY26. But its sales remains flat to 22.23 MT in H1FY27 compared to the same period a year ago.
National Mineral Development Corporation (NMDC), a Navratna Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Steel, Government of India is the single largest producer of iron ore in India. It owns and operates highly mechanized iron ore mines in Chhattisgarh and Karnataka and has its registered office at Hyderabad, Telangana. NMDC is considered to be one of the low-cost producers of iron ore in the world. It also operates the only mechanized diamond mine in India at Panna, Madhya Pradesh.
NMDC aims to have an iron ore production capacity of 100 MNT by FY30.
