The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI), RuPay has tied up with BookMyShow to provide exclusive benefits to its customers related to Live Events like Sunburn, Lollapalooza India, Bandland, etc. BookMyShow in an exclusive one-year tie up with RuPay payment solutions will offer Live Events Passport.
The BookMyShow and RuPay payment solutions offer exclusive access to cultural and entertainment experience for its customers across India. The collaboration will operate through both digital and on-ground channels.

What Are The Benefits RuPay Cardholders Will Get?
RuPay cardholders will get Live Events Passport which will provide them special access to BookMyShow's most popular events like Sunburn, Lollapalooza India, Bandland, etc. Other than these flagship events, RuPay cardholders will also get pre-sale ticket access and priority on ticket bookings for other wide range of concerts and shows listed on the platform.
In addition to this, there will be priority seating zones, curated food and beverage options, fast-lane entry for on-site top-ups, dedicated lounge spaces, exclusive merchandise privileges, curated food and beverage options, etc. These benefits are similar to the once offered by banks like HSBC and Kotak Mahindra.
Special Lounges At Major Events
In a major delight for RuPay cardholders, the network will now set up experiential spaces at major events. These spaces will feature premium lounges and activation zones like premium hangout spots. The setting up of premium lounges is an attempt by RuPay to boost its brand engagement.
The concert and live events industry is growing constantly in India. With the arrival of globally popular sensations like Dua Lipa, Coldplay, Bryan Adams, Ed Sheeran, etc, the craze for live concerts has increased phenomenally over the past few months.
With growing demand for live concert shows, audiences are increasingly seeking personalised and immersive experiences.
This trend is driven by a young demographic with rising disposable incomes and greater access to global music and cultural festivals. The introduction of the Live Events Passport is likely to boost early ticket sales during the upcoming festival season. It will also help deepen brand loyalty among consumers who are keen on engaging with high-energy segments like sports, music, and cultural events.
This strategic move comes as part of RuPay's efforts to connect with high-engagement segments through innovative offerings. By integrating their payment solutions across major customer touchpoints, they aim to make transactions smoother and more efficient for users.
According to BookMyShow's 2024 year-end report, around 30,687 live events were organised across India in more than three hundred cities. This marks a nearly 18% increase in live concerts number in India compared to 2023. The platform saw a tremendous demand of tickets for concerts of pop stars like Nick Jonas, Diljit Dosanjh, Maroon 5, etc.
