Rupee Opens Higher At 70.79

On Monday, rupee opened at 70.79 versus its previous close of 70.94 per US dollar.
On Monday, January 13, 2020, crude oil price retreated lower as tensions between the US and Iran eased. Nonetheless, the losses were kept curbed because of the announced US-China deal on January 15 in the US. . Brent crude was down 13 cents, or 0.2%, at $64.85 per barrel at 0120 GMT. WTI was also down 9 cents, or 0.2%, at $58.95 a barrel.

In the bond market, yield on 10-year benchmark bonds stood at 6.588%.

Meanwhile, tracking global markets, Indian Indices are set to open higher.
