Rupee Opens Higher At 74.18 Per US Dollar
Rupee in Tuesday's trade (August 25, 2020) opened higher at 74.18 versus previous day's close of 74.32 per US dollar. In the previous session, it closed at 5-month high owing to strong inflows.
The yield on 10-year benchmark bond came in at 6.165%. The lack of any backing from the RBI as indications on bond buying makes bond buyers and banks worried.

Crude oil prices have been mixed today as traders took into account huge production cuts in the U.S. Gulf Coast from Tropical Storms Marco and Laura and due to rising coronavirus positive cases across Europe and Asia. Brent crude oil futures gain 0.1%, to $45.18 a barrel, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude was down 9 cents, or 0.2%, at $42.53 a barrel.
Meanwhile, Indian indices tracking positive global cues traded higher with Nifty trading at 11499, with gains of 0.28%.
