Rupee Opens Higher At 76.32 Per US dollar; Bond Yield Decline To 6.19%

Rupee on Thursday April 23, 2020 opened higher at 76.32, up 35 paise, against previous close of 76.67 per US dollar. The gains have come on account of strength in the domestic equities even as dollar climbed to over 2 week high against a basket of major currencies.

In the bond market, the yield on 10-year benchmark bonds stood at 6.19% against previous close of 6.22%.

In the oil market, there has been some recovery from the historic lows which saw the commodity hit negative levels in the futures market.

Meanwhile, indices in India are trading strong in line with Asian economies with Nifty above 9200 levels.
