Rupee Opens Steady At 74.84 Per US Dollar
Rupee in Friday's trade (August 14, 2020) opened unchanged at 74.847 versus previous day's close of 74.85 per US dollar.
The yield on 10-year benchmark bond came in higher 5.931% as compared to Thursday's close of 5.866% after retail inflation data for July.
CPI inflation for July month came in well above the RBI's comfort level at 6.93 percent on continuously surging food prices, negating hopes of a further rate cut.
Oil prices in today's session gained and are on course for a second week of gains as fuel demand is seen to pick up despite the pandemic. Brent crude was up 14 cents, or 0.3%, at $45.10 by 0043 GMT. West Texas Intermediate gained 12 cents, or 0.3%, to $42.36.
Meanwhile, Indian indices tracking mixed global cues are trading higher, with Nifty at 11332.
