Rupee in Thursday's trade (July 23, 2020) opens at 74.64 per US dollar versus previous day's close of 74.76 per US dollar. At one hand, dollar index is at over 4-week low, but sentiments around Covid 19 vaccine that it shall not be available as early as 2021 will also have a negative impact on the rupee.
Yield on 10-year benchmark government bonds stood at 5.814%.
Meanwhile, despite subdued markets on escalating US-China tensions, the Indian indices are trading with marginal gains, with Nifty over 11170 points and Sensex at a tad below 38000 points.
