Rupee Opens Lower At 75.22 Per US Dollar
Rupee in Thursday's trade (July 16, 2020) opens lower at 75.22 in comparison to previous close of 75.15 per levels. This is even as the dollar has softened.
The yield on 10-year government bond stood at 5.8130%.
Oil prices declined today after Russia and other OPEC producers agreed to ease production from August. Nonetheless, the curbs remain capped as a result of swift US demand pickup. Brent crude fell 13 cents, or 0.3%, at $43.66 a barrel by 0015 GMT, and U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude dropped 18 cents, or 0.4%, to $41.02 a barrel. They rose 2% the previous day, helped by the U.S. crude inventories drop.
As we write corona cases in India have topped 9.6 lakh where as the toll has hit 25000 number due to coronavirus.
Meanwhile Indian indices tracking strength in the Asian markets and US stocks overnight climbed with Nifty above 10660 points.
