Rupee Trades Flat At 76.19 Per US Dollar
Rupee in Wednesday's trade (June 17, 2020) opened flat at 76.22 per US dollar. In the previous trading day, weakness in the equity and India-China border tensions weighed on the currency.
In the bond market, the yield on benchmark bonds stood at 5.836%.
Oil markets on Wednesday snapped two day gaining streak as China's second wave of infection and rising US stockpiles weighed on the demand prospects of the commodity. US oil futures were dragged below $38 per barrel after jumping 6% in the previous 2 sessions.
Meanwhile Indian indices were largely trading flat with a positive bias as there is seen escalation in India-China border tension, with Nifty hovering above 9900 points.
