Rupee Trades Lower Despite Softer Dollar

Rupee in Thursday's trade (July 30, 2020) opens at 74.82 versus previous day's close of 74.798 per US dollar. And while publishing the story was still weaker in trade at 74.86 per US dollar. This is despite the dollar weakening to its 2-year low.

Yield on 10-year benchmark government bonds stood at 5.835%.

In the previous trading session, even as dollar recovered rupee settled more or less unchanged from the opening rate.

Rupee Trades Lower Despite Softer Dollar

Oil price today inched lower today as coronavirus caseload spike across the world is seen to be a dent on demand while major producers are set to increase their supply for August. .S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude futures fell 6 cents, or 0.2%, to $41.21 a barrel at 0130 GMT, while Brent crude futures lost 7 cents, also 0.2%, to $43.68 a barrel.

Meanwhile, Indian equities in line with Asian stocks trade higher.
